Stainless steel 310S foils have a lower carbon content (maximum 0.08%) for improved weldability and are made up of 24–26% chromium and 19–22% nickel. They also have trace amounts of silicon, phosphorus, and manganese. With an elongation of up to 40%, SS 310S has a yield strength of about 205 MPa and a tensile strength of about 520–750 MPa. Up to 1100°C, the alloy offers outstanding resistance to oxidation and creep. Its low carbon content improves durability and corrosion resistance by lowering carbide precipitation during welding, particularly in high-temperature service environments like furnaces and heat treatment equipment.
