Stainless Steel 317L Channel is an austenitic stainless steel alloy with about 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, and 3–4% molybdenum content with a maximum of 0.03% carbon. It also has trace amounts of manganese, silicon, and iron. This gives it improved corrosion resistance, particularly in acidic and chloride-containing environments. Its mechanical properties include tensile strength of approximately 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of approximately 35%. The low carbon content of the alloy enhances weldability and reduces intergranular corrosion risk, hence its use in harsh industrial processes.
