Monel K500 is precipitation-strengthened nickel-copper alloy containing around 63% nickel, 30% copper, and minor amounts of aluminum (2.3–3.15%) and titanium (0.35–0.85%). This promotes hardness and strength compared to commercial Monel 400. The alloy has high resistance to corrosion, particularly in marine and chemical environments. It has a tensile strength of as much as 1100 MPa and yield strength of approximately 790 MPa, with excellent toughness over a broad range of temperatures. Monel K500 maintains non-magnetic characteristics and offers better wear and erosion resistance and is thus ideally applied for corrosive, high-stress conditions.
