Alloy Steel Grade 12 Plates and Sheets consist mainly of molybdenum (0.44–0.65%) and chromium (0.8–1.25%) with little carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and silicon. The low-alloy steel has great oxidation and corrosion resistance, particularly at high temperatures. It offers a tensile strength of around 415–585 MPa and yield strength of around 205 MPa. The alloy also possesses good creep resistance as well as thermal stability, thus being suitable for use in the conditions where heat and pressure resistance are essential. It has good weldability, machinability, and structural stability under stress.
