Alloy Steel Grade 22 is a chromium-molybdenum steel with around 2.25% chromium and 1% molybdenum content, which increases its strength, hardness, and resistance to corrosion. It has a tensile strength of about 415–585 MPa and yield strength of around 205–275 MPa, while exhibiting good elongation and impact properties. The alloy shows good performance in higher temperature conditions and retains very good structural integrity when subjected to high pressure. Its mechanical and chemical stability also makes it the best choice to be used in applications requiring high temperature, particularly where thermal fatigue and creep resistance are necessary.
