Nimonic is a group of nickel-chromium alloys usually having alloying elements such as cobalt, aluminum, titanium, and iron, depending on the composition (e.g., Nimonic 75, 80A, 90). The materials have high high-temperature strength, oxidation resistance, and creep resistance. Nimonic Plates and Sheets have tensile strengths usually in the range of 800–1000 MPa, together with high fatigue resistance and satisfactory weldability. Their mechanical stability above 800°C makes them suitable for use in heat-stressed conditions. They can also be precipitation-hardened to give better performance in turbine and aerospace applications.
