Stainless Steel 317L Foils consist mainly of chromium (18–20%), nickel (11–15%), and molybdenum (3–4%), with minimal carbon content for increased corrosion resistance and weldability. Other elements are manganese, silicon, and iron. These foils have high tensile strength (usually 515 MPa), yield strength (205 MPa), and elongation (minimum 35%). Having higher resistance against crevice corrosion and pitting, particularly in acidic and chloride media, 317L foils provide consistent mechanical stability, high creep strength, and excellent formability, which qualifies them for tough industrial and chemical processing applications.
