Stainless Steel 348H is stabilized austenitic stainless steel alloy made up of mainly chromium (17–20%), nickel (9–13%), and carbon (0.04–0.10%) with additional niobium (columbium) for added stability. The alloy has superior resistance to corrosion of intergranular type, particularly in the welded condition. It has tensile strength of about 585 MPa, yield strength of about 240 MPa, and good creep strength at high temperatures. SS 348H Channels are structure-intact in high-temperature conditions, thus ideal for heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and other high-stress applications.
