Invar 42 Sheets and Plates consist of about 41%–43% Nickel and remainder Iron with trace materials like carbon, manganese, silicon, and chromium. This special composition gives a very low coefficient of thermal expansion. Mechanical properties consist of tensile strength of around 450–600 MPa, yield strength of 275 MPa, and elongation of 35%.
