About 20–22% chromium, 10–12% nickel, 1.4–2.2% silicon, and trace amounts of nitrogen (~0.14%) and rare earth metals are present in stainless steel 253MA (UNS S30815) to enhance oxidation resistance. It has a yield strength of about 310 MPa and a tensile strength of 600–750 MPa. At high temperatures, the alloy exhibits good structural stability and retains its high strength and creep resistance. Additionally, 253MA provides good corrosion resistance, especially against oxidation and scaling in hot conditions. It is appropriate for demanding structural applications due to its balanced composition, which offers exceptional fabricability, weldability, and high-temperature mechanical properties.
