SA516 Grade 70 is a carbon steel plate having a basic composition of 0.27–0.31% carbon, 0.15–0.40% silicon, and 0.85–1.20% manganese with trace amounts of phosphorus and sulfur. It is renowned for its superior notch toughness, strength, and weldability. The grade offers a tensile strength of 485–620 MPa and a yield strength of at least 260 MPa. Normalized for superior mechanical performance, SA516 Grade 70 operates reliably under moderate and high-temperature service conditions, thus fitting for pressure vessel and boiler applications.
