Inconel 718 is a nickel-chromium alloy with significant additions of iron, niobium, molybdenum, and trace amounts of titanium and aluminum. Its common composition is around 50–55% nickel, 17–21% chromium, 4.75–5.5% niobium, 2.8–3.3% molybdenum, and trace elements for better performance. It possesses excellent tensile strength up to 1240 MPa, yield strength around 1030 MPa, and excellent creep resistance. These foils are strong and resist oxidation even to temperatures as high as 700°C, which makes them ideal for high-pressure and critical aerospace applications where thermal stability and mechanical performance are critical.
