The typical composition of Inconel 600, a nickel-chromium alloy, is nickel (≥72%), chromium (14–17%), and iron (6–10%), with trace amounts of manganese, carbon, and silicon. With a tensile strength of approximately 655 MPa, a yield strength of approximately 310 MPa, and an elongation of 30–40%, it provides exceptional mechanical strength. Inconel 600 has exceptional resistance to carburisation, oxidation, and corrosion cracking caused by chloride ions. It exhibits remarkable performance at temperatures from cryogenic to more than 1000°C, retaining structural integrity even when subjected to extreme chemical exposure and thermal cycling.
