Stainless Steel 347 is an austenitic stainless steel stabilised by niobium that exhibits exceptional resistance to intergranular corrosion. Chromium 17–20%, nickel 9–13%, and columbium (niobium) + tantalum up to 1.10% for stabilisation are all included in its composition. In addition, it has silicon, manganese, and a maximum of 0.08% carbon. A minimum tensile strength of 515 MPa, a yield strength of 205 MPa, and an elongation of 40% are among the mechanical characteristics. SS 347 is perfect for high-heat settings and welded structures because it retains its strength and resistance to corrosion at high temperatures.
