C60 High Carbon Steel Plates and Sheets basically consist of carbon (0.55%–0.65%), manganese (0.60%–0.90%), phosphorus (up to 0.040%), and sulfur (up to 0.050%). This alloy offers high tensile strength (usually between 700–850 MPa) and enhanced hardness and wear resistance. The alloy is moderately ductile and responds to heat treatment well, especially hardening and tempering. It is also supplied with a satisfactory toughness–machinability ratio and thus finds excellent applications where high mechanical strength is needed under conditions of stress or repeated impacts.
