The plates have high tensile strength, good notch toughness, and good weldability. Typical mechanical properties are tensile strength between 380–620 MPa, yield strength of 205–450 MPa, and elongation of over 20%. The steel also exhibits excellent resistance to brittle fracture and high-temperature capabilities, and is therefore applicable to use in challenging pressure-bearing situations.
