Corten A/B Corten Steel is a low-alloy steel with copper (0.25–0.55%), chromium (0.40–0.65%), nickel (up to 0.65%), and phosphorus (up to 0.15%), with iron as the base metal. These constituents develop a stable rust-like surface appearance after being exposed to weather. Corten A/B possesses tensile strength of 470–630 MPa and yield strength of 340–460 MPa, with elongation of about 20%. The steel also possesses outstanding atmospheric corrosion resistance, good formability, and weldability. Its mechanical properties and weathering behavior render it capable of withstanding long-term applications in severe outdoor conditions.
