The chromium-nickel precipitation-hardening stainless steel 15-5 PH is more durable than 17-4 PH. It is composed of 14–15.5% chromium, 3.5–5.5% nickel, 2.5–4.5% copper, and very little carbon (≤0.07%). It attains exceptional strength and hardness following heat treatment. Tensile strength of up to 1380 MPa, yield strength of approximately 1170 MPa, and elongation of 10–15% are among the mechanical characteristics. It is appropriate for high-stress and corrosive environments because it has good corrosion resistance and retains mechanical integrity in both annealed and hardened conditions.
