Aluminium 5005 Circles consist predominantly of aluminium (in excess of 97%), with the major alloying element being magnesium (0.5–1.1%), trace amounts of iron, silicon, copper, and chromium. This non-heat-treatable alloy provides superior corrosion resistance in marine and industrial atmospheres. It possesses tensile strength of 170–215 MPa, yield strength approximately 110–145 MPa, and satisfactory elongation up to 12–20%. The alloy exhibits high formability, average strength, and good electrical conductivity. It shows a superior anodizing response, which makes it suitable for decorative and architectural uses demanding higher surface finish.
