Aluminium 2024 Circles consist mainly of aluminium (90.7–94.7%), with important alloying constituents being copper (3.8–4.9%), manganese (0.3–0.9%), and magnesium (1.2–1.8%). It is a heat-treatable alloy with high strength-to-weight ratio, good resistance to fatigue, and fair machinability. It contains typical tensile strength of 400–490 MPa, yield strength approximately 270–320 MPa, and elongation of 10–20%. Though its corrosion resistance is less than that of pure aluminium, it has good performance in structural and stress high-usage applications when anodized or coated.
