Stainless Steel 304H Sheets and Plates generally consist of Chromium (18–20%), Nickel (8–11%), Carbon (0.04–0.10%), minor elements of Manganese, Silicon, Phosphorus, Sulfur, and Iron. The increased carbon content improves high-temperature strength. Mechanical properties are a tensile strength of around 515 MPa (minimum), yield strength of 205 MPa (minimum), and an elongation of around 40%. They have exceptional toughness at even cryogenic temperatures. Due to its high resistance to scaling and oxidation at high temperatures, the material is highly suitable for use in high-temperature service applications.
