Stainless Steel 201 Sheets and Plates normally have 16–18% Chromium, 3.5–5.5% Nickel, 5.5–7.5% Manganese, and trace amounts of Silicon, Carbon, Nitrogen, and Sulfur. The material possesses good strength and fair corrosion resistance. Its mechanical properties are Tensile Strength of 515 MPa (minimum), Yield Strength of 275 MPa (minimum), and Elongation of 40% (minimum). The material shows excellent formability and toughness. It also has a Brinell Hardness of 217 HB maximum. All these properties render SS 201 a resilient and cost-effective substitute for higher-nickel stainless steels.
