Stainless Steel 316 Angle consists mainly of Chromium (16-18%), Nickel (10-14%), and Molybdenum (2-3%), and its base element is Iron. It has other elements like Manganese, Silicon, and Carbon in minor quantities. This composition increases corrosion resistance, especially against chlorides and acid surroundings. Mechanical properties are in the range of a tensile strength of about 515 MPa, yield strength of about 205 MPa, and elongation of 40% in 50 mm. The material is very tough even at cryogenic temperatures, and the Brinell hardness is about 217 HBW.
