Duplex Steel Channels are produced using a balanced combination of ferritic and austenitic stainless steel, commonly consisting of about 22–25% chromium, 4.5–7% nickel, and 2.5–3.5% molybdenum, and nitrogen is used to increase strength and corrosion resistance. This special composition has high tensile strength (up to 800 MPa), satisfactory yield strength, and superior resistance against pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Duplex steel also offers greater thermal conductivity and less thermal expansion than austenitic stainless steels, which is why it is suited for corrosive and high-pressure conditions. It is cost-efficient and is also very strong for structural purposes.
