The balanced mixture of austenitic and ferritic stainless steel that makes up Duplex Steel Foils usually contains 22–25% chromium, 4.5–7% nickel, 3–5% molybdenum, and iron, along with trace amounts of nitrogen and manganese. Superior tensile strength (600–800 MPa), yield strength (approximately 450 MPa), and elongation of roughly 25% are all provided by this dual-phase structure. Duplex steel maintains good weldability and formability while providing exceptional resistance to pitting, stress corrosion, cracking, and fatigue.
