The Stainless Steel 316L Angle is a low-carbon form of SS 316, having mainly iron, 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, 2–3% molybdenum, and up to 0.03% carbon. Molybdenum makes it stronger against corrosion as well as pitting, particularly in chloride environments. It provides superior mechanical characteristics such as tensile strength of around 485 MPa, yield strength of about 170 MPa, and elongation of around 40%. Its strength is excellent even at cryogenic temperatures and hence appropriate for a variety of stringent applications.
