Duplex Steel S32205 is a nearly equal composition of austenite and ferrite phases, thereby offering a balanced microstructure. It has a chemical composition of approximately 22% chromium, 5% nickel, 3% molybdenum, trace amounts of nitrogen, and manganese to achieve enhanced corrosion resistance and strength. Mechanically, it has a tensile strength of roughly 620 MPa, yield strength of approximately 450 MPa, and elongation of around 25%, with an abundance of robustness and toughness. This duplex structure also provides great resistance to stress corrosion cracking and good fatigue strength.
