Aluminium 1100 Rings consist of 99.0% minimum pure aluminium with minor amounts of copper (0.05–0.20%) and other constituents. The alloy possesses good corrosion resistance, high heat conductivity, and satisfactory workability. It contains tensile strength of 90 to 130 MPa, yield strength of about 35 MPa, and very good elongation up to 30%. Though not heat treatable, Aluminium 1100 can be hardened by cold working. It is not magnetic and has good weldability, which makes it effective for several non-load-bearing applications where corrosion resistance is a factor.
