Aluminium 1100 Plates and Sheets consist of at least 99.0% pure aluminium and are among the most ductile and soft grades of aluminium. Trace amounts of copper (0.05–0.20%), iron (0.35% max), and other elements are present. The alloy has good corrosion resistance, good electrical and thermal conductivity, and high formability. Its tensile strength is normally in the range of 90-130 MPa and yield strength around 35 MPa. Aluminium 1100 cannot be hardened through heat treatment but can be strengthened through cold working and is hence appropriate for use in shaping and forming applications.
