Aluminium 5052 Sheets and Plates consist mainly of aluminium (95.7–97.7%), but magnesium (2.2–2.8%) and chromium (0.15–0.35%) are the major alloying elements. This alloy offers outstanding corrosion resistance, particularly in seawater. It has a tensile strength of 210–280 MPa and a yield strength of 130–200 MPa, with fair fatigue strength and good formability. Aluminium 5052 is not heat-treatable but hardens from cold working.
