The alloy possesses high strength, high stress corrosion resistance, and good toughness. In the T7451 temper, it has a typical tensile strength of 510–570 MPa and yield strength of approximately 430–490 MPa. Aluminium 7050 is heat treatable and has good machinability. It possesses excellent high-strength properties in heavy sections and is therefore the material of choice in applications that require strength and performance under heavy stress and environmental loads.
