AR 500 Sheet and Plate is a high-carbon alloy steel with superior hardness and wear resistance. Its standard chemical composition consists of Carbon (0.30-0.50%), Manganese (0.70-1.60%), Silicon (0.20-0.50%), Chromium (0.50-1.00%), with minute traces of Nickel and Molybdenum. AR 500 provides a Brinell Hardness of 450-500 HBW and has superior tensile strength of about 1250 MPa and yield strength of about 1000 MPa. It also has good impact resistance and toughness even in extreme conditions and is therefore appropriate for applications requiring long-term performance.
