Carbon Steel AISI 1045 Channel has about 0.43–0.50% carbon, 0.60–0.90% manganese, with small amounts of sulfur and phosphorus. It is a medium carbon steel having good strength and hardness. The general tensile strength is 570–700 MPa, yield strength about 330 MPa, and elongation of about 16%. It has good machinability and impact resistance. AISI 1045 also undergoes heat treatment operations such as quenching and tempering with ease, hence becoming the preferred option for components that need higher mechanical strength.
