The major constituents of Hastelloy B3 are nickel (max. 65%) and molybdenum (max. 30%), with iron, cobalt, chromium, and manganese added. Hastelloy B3 possesses greater resistance to hydrochloric acid, hydrobromic acid, and sulfuric acid. The tensile strength of the alloy is around 760 MPa, yield strength is 350 MPa, and elongation is about 40%. The Hastelloy B3 maintains its mechanical properties over a very broad temperature range and severe corrosive chemical environment. Its superior ductility and thermal stability qualify it for fabrication, welding, and forming under extremely corrosive industrial environments.
