Hastelloy C22 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with additions of iron and tungsten. Its typical composition comprises Nickel (about 56%), Chromium (20–22.5%), Molybdenum (12.5–14.5%), Iron (2–6%), and Tungsten (2.5–3.5%). Its composition provides superior resistance to general corrosive media. The alloy has a tensile strength of about 690 MPa, yield strength of 283 MPa, and elongation of 45%, indicating it is strong but ductile. It maintains mechanical integrity at both high and sub-zero temperatures, which makes it suitable for mission-critical applications in harsh environments.
