Nickel (58–63%), chromium (21–25%), and iron make up the majority of Inconel 601, with aluminium (1–1.7%) added for increased oxidation resistance. With a tensile strength of 600–800 MPa and a yield strength of 240–400 MPa, this alloy demonstrates exceptional mechanical strength and thermal stability. Inconel 601 is resistant to scaling, carburisation, and spalling and retains its integrity at temperatures as high as 1200°C. It is appropriate for both structural and high-temperature industrial applications due to its exceptional weldability, workability, and high mechanical strength and creep resistance.
