Monel K500 is precipitation-hardened alloy consisting mainly of nickel (63%) and copper (27–33%), with minor additions of aluminum (2.3–3.15%) and titanium (0.35–0.85%). This makes it stronger and harder than Monel 400. It has superior mechanical properties, such as a tensile strength of 965 MPa and yield strength of 690 MPa, and superior corrosion resistance, particularly in marine and chemical environments. The alloy is tough at sub-zero temperatures and is resistant to stress corrosion cracking and erosion and is suitable for high-performance, demanding applications.
