Commercially available nickel alloy 201 has a low carbon content (≤0.02%) and is pure (≥99.6% Ni), which increases resistance to intergranular corrosion and graphitisation at high temperatures. Iron (≤0.4%), manganese (≤0.35%), copper (≤0.25%), and sulphur (≤0.01%) are additional elements. It is very ductile and formable, with a tensile strength of about 380 MPa, a yield strength of about 90 MPa, and an elongation of 50%. Excellent thermal and electrical conductivity, resistance to corrosion in alkaline environments, and suitability for deep drawing, spinning, and high-temperature applications are all attributes of nickel 201 foils.
