Nimonic Shim Sheets and Plates are nickel-based superalloys that consist mainly of nickel (more than 50%), chromium (15–21%), and a lesser quantity of titanium, aluminum, cobalt, and iron. They are provided with this composition that gives them high strength, creep strength, and oxidation resistance at higher temperatures. These materials are generally provided with tensile strength up to 1000 MPa, high yield strength, and great fatigue resistance. Nimonic alloys possess mechanical stability at very high thermal and mechanical conditions and are thus most appropriate for applications in high-temperature engineering. They have good weldability and resistance to corrosion in oxidizing conditions.
