Standard composition consists of Carbon (0.28–0.31%), Manganese (0.79–1.30%), Phosphorus (max 0.035%), Sulfur (max 0.035%), and Silicon (0.13–0.45%). Mechanical properties consist of a tensile strength of 485–620 MPa, yield strength ≥ 260 MPa, and elongation of 21% minimum. These plates show superior weldability, ductility, and toughness and are hence used in challenging structural applications.
