17-4 PH stainless steel About 15–17.5% chromium, 3–5% nickel, 3–5% copper, and 0.15–0.45% niobium make up sheets and plates, with iron making up the remaining portion. Heat treatment gives the material its high strength and hardness. Depending on the heat treatment condition, it has a tensile strength of up to 1310 MPa, a yield strength of about 1170 MPa, and an elongation of roughly 10–20%. 17-4 PH is perfect for applications needing strength and durability because it retains good toughness and corrosion resistance in both hardened and aged states.
