With trace amounts of silicon, phosphorus, and sulphur, the main constituents of stainless steel 201 angle are 16–18% chromium, 3.5–5.5% nickel, 5.5–7.5% manganese, and 0.15% carbon. This composition is economical and provides good mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. Its elongation is 40%, its yield strength is 275 MPa, and its tensile strength is roughly 520 MPa.
