Common grades for stainless steel 2B finish sheets and plates are 304, 316, or 430, which have low concentrations of carbon, manganese, silicon, and iron along with 18–20% chromium and 8–12% nickel. The 2B finish, which produces a smooth, non-reflective, and easily cleaned surface, is accomplished by cold rolling, heat treatment, and pickling. These sheets provide good formability, corrosion resistance, and surface uniformity for both structural and decorative applications. They have tensile strengths between 500 and 750 MPa, yield strengths of about 200 to 300 MPa, and elongation of at least 40%.
