317L Stainless Steel Foils are low carbon, molybdenum-containing austenitic stainless steels with higher corrosion resistance. Normal composition consists of Chromium 18–20%, Nickel 11–15%, Molybdenum 3–4%, Carbon ≤0.03%, Manganese ≤2%, Silicon ≤1%. Mechanical properties consist of tensile strength ~515 MPa, yield strength ~205 MPa, elongation ~35%, and excellent formability. Low carbon content minimizes carbide precipitation during welding, thus improving weldability. This alloy has high creep, stress-to-rupture, and tensile strength at high temperatures and is suitable for rigorous applications.
