321 Stainless Steel is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel with about 17-19% chromium, 9-12% nickel, and trace elements of carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, and titanium. Its composition offers resistance to carbide precipitation and intergranular corrosion. It has a tensile strength of about 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 40%. The alloy has excellent mechanical strength and resistance to oxidation even at high temperatures, which makes it suitable to be used in high-temperature environments where regular stainless steels would fail.
