Stainless Steel 3CR12 is a lower-cost chromium-bearing ferritic stainless steel with approximately 11-12% chromium, trace amounts of nickel, and trace levels of carbon (≤0.03%), manganese, and silicon. It possesses moderate corrosion resistance and can be readily welded. Mechanically, it has a tensile strength of about 450-550 MPa, yield strength of approximately 280 MPa, and elongation of around 18-20%. Its favorable formability and moderate strength qualify it for structural uses, while its resistance to oxidation enables application in mildly corrosive environments and high-temperature conditions.
