Alloy 446 Stainless Steel is a high-chromium ferritic alloy with about 23-27% chromium, 0.20% carbon, and traces of manganese, silicon, and molybdenum. It provides excellent resistance to sulfidation, oxidation, and corrosion at high temperatures. The alloy has a tensile strength of around 485 MPa, a yield strength of 275 MPa, and elongation of approximately 20%. It has structural stability in environments up to 1100°C. These mechanical and chemical properties make SS 446 a very good selection for applications that need to be stable, durable, and resistant to thermal and chemical stress.
