Stainless steel channels are usually made from grades 304, 316, and 202, which are primarily made of iron with 8–10% nickel and 16–18% chromium. Two to three percent molybdenum is added to grade 316 to increase corrosion resistance. Depending on the grade, these channels have yield strengths between 200 and 450 MPa and tensile strengths between 500 and 750 MPa. They are very durable, weldable, and corrosion resistant. Stainless steel channels are appropriate for a variety of demanding industrial applications because they retain their structural integrity in corrosive and high-temperature environments.
