Tantalum R05240 is a high purity unalloyed tantalum grade with a minimum of 99.95% tantalum content with tightly controlled trace elements. It has an excellent ductility, corrosion resistance, and a high melting point of more than 2996°C. The tensile strength is around 200–400 MPa and elongation is 25–40%, with a Brinell hardness of about 90 HB. Tantalum R05240 exhibits mechanical strength even at elevated temperatures and resists attack by the majority of acids and is ideal for use in hostile chemical environments as well as high-temperature applications.
