Titanium Coils and Slitting Coils are produced in different grades, being most popularly Grade 2 (commercially pure) and Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V). Grade 2 is composed of more than 98% pure titanium with minute amounts of oxygen, carbon, and nitrogen, providing superior corrosion resistance and modest strength. Grade 5 has 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium, having greater strength and hardness. Mechanical properties consist of tensile strength between 345 MPa (Grade 2) and 895 MPa (Grade 5), very low density (4.51 g/cm³), superior fatigue strength, and good weldability, making them well-suited for high-performance engineering applications.
